18U GIRLS KICK OFF THEIR SEASON WITH THE WIN

Avon's 18U kicked off their summer season Thursday, June 19 hosting Mt. Vernon Venom 18s in a doubleheader. In game 1 Mt. Vernon took an early 2-1 lead after one inning. Avon came right back and took the lead 4-2 through two frames.

14U TEENERS TO CANOVA

On Monday, June 23, the Wagner VFW Post 7319 14U teeners traveled up to Canova to take on the Gang and lost a heartbreaker in extra innings by a score of 6-5. Connor Gabel threw the first five innings. He allowed five runs, two earned, on six hits while walking four and striking out one.

WAGNER HOSTS AT HENNIES FIELD

On Wednesday, June 25, the VFW Post 7319 14U teeners played host to Parkston for two games at Hennies Field. In the first game Parkston used a walk, an error, a single, and a wild pitch to score twice and gain the early lead.

SOUTHEAST ELITE: YANKTON FATHER’S DAY TOURNAMENT

GAME ONE: The Elite gave up 4 runs in the first inning and were not quite able to battle all the way back and lost to the TSC Avalanche by a score of 12-11. The Elite were down 4 going into the final inning when Macy Haynes doubled, scoring two runs.

AVON 12U WON BIG OVER SPRINGFIELD

The Avon 12U won big over Springfield REC 13-1 on Monday, June 16. Avon got on the board in the top of the first inning after Stella R doubled, scoring three runs, and an error scored one run. Avon12U scored five runs on two hits in the top of the second inning.

WAGNER 10U & 12U BASEBALL ACTION

The Wagner 10U team played a great game but came up short with a 11-10 score in play action with Armour Thursday night. The Wagner 12U bats were hot and the team came away with a 15-5 win over Armour Thursday, June 12th. Ryder Insko started on the mound and Grayson Knebel was behind the plate.

14U WINNER TOURNEY

The Wagner VFW Post 7319 14U Teeners traveled to Colome and Winner on June 14 and 15 to participate in their annual tournament. We would face Chamberlain in the first round and easily came away with a 16-0 victory. Jacob Kotab took to the mound to earn the victory.

SENIOR TEAM FALLS SHORT TO VERMILLION

On Wednesday, June 18, the Wagner Post 11 Senior Legion boys traveled to Vermillion to take on Post 1. A rough first inning sealed the fate for Wagner as Vermillion used three walks, two errors, and a hit batsman to stake an early 3-0 lead.
