SOUTHEAST ELITE: YANKTON FATHER’S DAY TOURNAMENT

GAME ONE:

The Elite gave up 4 runs in the first inning and were not quite able to battle all the way back and lost to the TSC Avalanche by a score of 12-11. The Elite were down 4 going into the final inning when Macy Haynes doubled, scoring two runs. However, she was left stranded on third ending the game. Rowan Brandt added a single for the Elite. Harper Kracht was on the hill striking out 3 in 4 innings of work.

GAME TWO:

The Elite suffered a similar fate in game two when they gave up 7 runs in the second inning, and they again tried to rally but fell one run short and lost to the Dakota Dynamite by a score of 8-7. Harper, Rowan and Kensley each had two hits. Harper was on the mound again, striking out 2 in five innings of work.

GAME THREE:

The Elite finished the day with a 9-7 win over the Vermillion Flamez. Rowan led the team with 3 hits, while Kensley added a triple. Macy Haynes also had two hits for the Elite. Harper got the win on the mound with relief help from Emersyn Haenfler. That left the Elite at 1-2 in pool play.

GAME FOUR:

OnSunday,theElitefaced the Brookings outlaws in the first game of the silver bracket competition. The Elite got off to a fast start scoring 5 runs in the first inning and hanging on to a 9-5 win. Emersyn and Rowan each tripled, while Stella added 3 hits in 3 at bats. Emersyn got the win on the mound surrendering only 2 hits in 5 innings. The Elite struggled defensively, allowing 5 unearned runs on 8 errors.

GAME FIVE:

The Elite ran into some tough pitching and were defeated by the SD Players White by a score of 12-0. Emersyn had the only hit for the Elite. Emersyn took the defeat on the hill. The Elite ended the tournament with a record of 2-3.
