Rail to Trail Update: I recently attended a R&T meeting in Pickstown. One of the main concerns is with the lawyers from St. Louis, Mo. They have made two statements that should concern every landowner close to the proposed trail project.

On 7/2 I attended a meeting in Lake Andes, we were provided with many numbers from the surveys from people who were for or against the trail. Landowners who will be affected in a negative way voted 80% not to support trail. One small town voted almost 100% no support.

I called Pierre to see what progress the Feasibility Study has had. They have had a lot of imput from concerned landowners. Most of the trail will go through private property so there is a major liability concern. The next step will be to check all the bridges as most need major repairs.
