Rail to Trail Update: I recently attended a R&T meeting in Pickstown. One of the main concerns is with the lawyers from St. Louis, Mo. They have made two statements that should concern every landowner close to the proposed trail project. (We know the trail will inconvenience landowners) and (the Federal government has the power of eminent domain, the right to take your private property for a public purpose).

Is it possible that a few people could accomplish their goal of a trail that would negative effect on many farmers? Farmers are the lifeblood of our small comunities, they deserve to be treated with respect. The commissioners from both counties have voted to not support the trail project and District III in Yankton - No support!
