HIGHMORE — Feb. 7, 2026 — The AC/DC Thunder Girls Basketball team put together a determined, full-effort performance Friday night but came up short against a deep and efficient White River squad, falling 68–54 on the road.

WOODS’ BUZZER-BEATER LIFTS JV RAIDERS OVER BLACKHAWKS

The Wagner boys junior varsity team delivered late-game drama Tuesday night in Woonsocket, escaping with a thrilling 39-36 victory over the Sanborn Central/ Woonsocket Blackhawks. The game was tightly contested from the start, with the teams deadlocked 8-8 at the end of the first quarter.

WAGNER BATTLES BUT CAN’T OVERCOME SECOND-HALF SURGE

The Wagner varsity boys showed resilience Tuesday night but came up short in a 54-43 loss to the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks in Woonsocket. Wagner fell behind 11-4 early in the first quarter before responding with a strong run following a timeout.

Saturday, February 14th Varsity Beam: Aubry Williams, Addison Cuka and Emma McNinch all competed beam individual day. Amelia Rathgeber also competed this event as an exhibition gymnast. Emma McNinch scored a 7.7667 and Aubry Williams scored an 8.0833. Varsity Floor: Aubry Williams scored an 8.

BHSA TENTH AT YANKTON

In their last tournament of the regular season, six Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon girls competed in the Yankton Tournament on February 6 with three receiving medals: Hadlee Kracht-130 was second, Jasmine Ruelas-Hertz third, and Bailey Kemnitz-140 sixth.

LADY PIRATES FALL ON THE ROAD TO FREEMAN

The Avon Lady Pirates traveled to Freeman on Monday, February 2, where they suffered a tough 50-64 loss to the Flyers. Despite the setback, the Lady Pirates turned in a strong offensive performance, led by Rilyn Thury with 22 points. Brielle Voigt also reached double figures, adding 14 points.
