RECORD-SETTING RAMPAGE

History continues to be made on the hardwood for Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal, and the Lady Raiders’ senior is doing it in dominant fashion. This past Saturday, Koupal etched her name even deeper into the Wagner record books during a 62–42 home victory over Avon.

LADY PIRATES TOP HANSON BEAVERS 49-42

The Avon Lady Pirates picked up a solid home-court win over Hanson, defeating the Beavers 49-42 in girls basketball action. Rilyn Thury led the way for Avon with 16 points, while Brielle Voigt and Kaydence Metzger each added 12 to help pace the Lady Pirates’ offense.

PIRATES OUTLAST HANSON IN TRIPLE-OT THRILLER

The Avon Pirates battled through three overtimes to earn a hard-fought 74-69 victory over Hanson in an exciting boys basketball matchup. Al’Shamon Gunter and Zander Fathke each poured in 21 points to lead the Pirates, while Cale Cooper added 13 points and Dominic Doom chipped in eight.

The Avon Lady Pirates hit the road Tuesday night, December 16th to open their season against Corsica/Stickney, where they suffered a tough 51-16 loss. Kaydence Metzger led the Lady Pirates on the scoreboard with six points, while Rilyn Thury added four.
