It was a cold, blustery, and windy day last Thursday as the TDA Knight Hawks came to town to take on the Lady Raiders. The opening quarter was a slow start for Wagner, as the teams were tied 7–7 midway through the period.

Basketball season finally seemed to arrive last Tuesday as the Lady Raiders hosted their region foes, the Mt. Vernon Plankinton Titans. Wagner opened the game on an 11–1 run in the first quarter and never looked back.

RAIDERS RALLY PAST MVP TO OPEN SEASON 1–0 The Wagner varsity boys basketball team opened the season with a hard-fought 62–46 victory over MVP on Tuesday night. The Raiders overcame an early deficit after MVP jumped out to a 13–6 lead in the first quarter.

The Avon Pirates boys basketball team enters the 2025-26 season with a blend of experienced returners, rising young talent, and the momentum of a group fresh off a State Football Championship Runner-Up run.

Four BHSA girls placed at the Rapid City Girls Wrestling Tournament: Jasmine RuelasHertz-4th, Hadlee Kracht5th, Hope Kemnitz-7th, and Sydney Johnson-8th. The top fourteen teams of the 43 were Bismarck-233.

After two consecutive years of finishing seventh at state, the BHSA girls finally reached the podium in 2025 finishing in fifth place.

The Avon Lady Pirates girls basketball team heads into the new season under the leadership of veteran head coach Brad Poppe, who is in his 31st year as head coach of the Lady Pirates, along with assistant coaches Becky Haenfler and Don Mudder.

2025 - 2026 The Wagner/Bon Homme gymnastics team enters the new season with a familiar goal and a determined mindset under head coach Cherie Petry, qualifying for the State Meet as a team.
