Region action began on November 3, when the Thunder battled past the Marty Braves in an exciting 3-2 victory.
The Lady Red Raiders faced the Mount Vernon/Plankinton Titans in the 5A Region matchup. The two teams battled back and forth in all five sets with Wagner earning a spot in the SoDak 16. Scores of the match were 21-25, 25-20, 25-15, 24-26, and 15-3.
The Avon Lady Pirates' volleyball season came to a close after a hard-fought battle Thursday night in Bonesteel, where they faced off against Corsica-Stickney and fell in a close 2-3 match.
The Avon Lady Pirates put together a strong performance Tuesday night, November 4, defeating Kimball White Lake in four sets during a hard-fought volleyball matchup held in Corsica. Avon took the match by scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, and 25-17.

The Avon Lady Pirates hosted the Gayville-Volin Raiders on Monday night, where they suffered a 1-3 loss.
Rilyn Thury led the Pirates offensively with 25 kills, while Kaydence Metzger added 10 kills.
The Avon Pirates hosted Sioux Falls Lutheran on Thursday, October 30, and came away with an impressive 62–30 victory to advance to the Class 9B semifinals. The Pirates started off slow, fumbling early and allowing Sioux Falls Lutheran to strike first with an 8–0 lead.
