The Avon Lady Pirates' volleyball season came to a close after a hard-fought battle Thursday night in Bonesteel, where they faced off against Corsica-Stickney and fell in a close 2-3 match.
Kaydence Metzger led at the service line with four aces, while Jordyn Voigt and Brielle Voigt each added two. Offensively, Rilyn Thury powered the attack with 27 kills, followed by Metzger with 10. Defensively, Thury also recorded 26 digs, while Brielle Voigt and Metzger each tallied 23, and Lexi Vanderlei added 20. Breanna Hento contributed two key blocks at the net, and Brielle Voigt set up the offense with 37 assists.
The Lady Pirates wrap up their season with a record of 18-13, marking another competitive year of Avon volleyball filled with determination, teamwork, and strong leadership on the court.
