Wagner traveled to Burke on Monday, October 27th. The Red Raiders fell in three straight sets with scores of 17-25, 20-25, and 20-25. Outside hitters Hannah Holzbauer and Ravyn Medricky led all attackers with 9 and 8 kills in the match. Braxton Nedved dished out 18 assists on the night.

The Avon Lady Pirates volleyball team celebrated a special evening Tuesday as they hosted Corsica-Stickney for Dig Pink Night and Parents Night, honoring both their seniors and a beloved community member in front of a supportive hometown crowd.

The 2025 SDHSAA state cross country meet took place in Huron on Saturday at Broadland Creek Golf Course. State qualifiers from Avon running in the meet were Cale Cooper, Rance Kuhlman, and Zander Fathke. As a team, the Pirate runners placed 9th in Class B boys 5000m.

The Avon Pirates were firing on all cylinders in the opening round of playoffs Thursday night, cruising to a 50–0 shutout win over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland. From the first whistle to the final horn, the Pirates dominated every phase of the game — offense, defense, and special teams.

The Avon Lady Pirates hosted Ethan on Monday night, October 20, where they battled their way to an exciting five-set victory, winning 3-2. It was a strong night for the Pirates as Rilyn Thury powered the offense with an impressive 34 kills and added 34 digs on defense.

Grady Bartunek represented the Wagner Raiders Cross Country team this last weekend at State Cross Country. Grady has been preparing for this moment all season and his hard work and determination has paid off! His race was the first of the day, on Saturday, October 25th. It started at noon.
