The Red Raider volleyball team traveled to Rapid City to compete in the 2025 State volleyball tournament.
Wagner faced a tough Dakota Valley squad in the opening round and lost with scores of 8-25, 11-25, and 18-25.
Hannah Holzbauer led all hitters earning 6 kills, Ravyn Medricky added 5, Ashlyn Koupal had 3, and Brianna Fuchs had 2. Braxton Nedved dished out 16 assists in the match. Holzbauer and Medricky each picked up 8 digs, Libby Kotab added 7, and Nedved had 6. At the service line Nedved and Brylie Link earned 2 aces. Medicky put up 2 stops and Ashlyn Koupal had 1.
In the second round the Red Raiders battled with Clark/Willow Lake but came up short with scores of 23-25, 26-28, and 16-25.
Ravyn Medricky led the attack, throwing down 10 kills, Hannah Holzbauer added 8, and Ashlyn Koupal had 6. Setter Braxton Nedved tallied 27 assists. In the backcourt Libby Kotab and Holzbauer scrambled for 19 digs apiece while Medricky and Nedved each picked up 7. Behind the service line Nedved and Brianna Fuch each had 1 ace. Up at the net Medricky had 2 blocks.
In the third and final round the Red Raiders played Rapid City Christian and lost in three sets with scores of 12-25, 1625, and 16-25.
Brylie Link led all attackers with 5 kills while Ashlyn Koupal and Braxton Nedved each had 4 kills. Nedved racked up 13 assists in the match. Libby Kotab picked up 9 digs and Hannah Holzbauer had 3. Behind the service line Brianna Fuchs and Holzbauer tallied 2 aces and Nedved had 1. Koupal had 1 stop at the net.
The Wagner Volleyball team had an amazing and fun season and are so grateful to be able to compete as one of the top 8 teams in the state. We are going to miss our three seniors Libby Kotab, Ashlyn Koupal, and Brylie Link. Thank you for your leadership and all the great memories not only this weekend but from all your years in the Wagner Volleyball program. We also want to thank the Wagner Community for all of your support for our team.
