The Wagner Red Raider football team finishes their season with a 7-3 mark. The season was full of excitement with contributions from multi-year starters and up-and-coming underclassmen. This season also was historical in a few ways. That started by defeating at the time, no. 1-ranked winner for the first time in school history. We also put up program-high totals for offensive production. The offensive unit was able to have a balanced attack on the ground and through the air. The offense is coached and coordinated by coach Riley Kirwan. Through the signal-caller, the Raiders gained 3,475 total yards of offense and produced 43 touchdowns. Gannon Knebel was able to break upwards of 10 school records, while Shea Kjeldgaard also broke a school record for season receiving yards and tied the record for season receiving touchdowns!

Gannon Knebel lead the offensive attack with 1639 passing yards with 16 passing TD’s. 1286 rushing yards with 22 rushing TD’s. On the receiving end of those scores Shea Kjeldgaard caught 41 of this passes to for 752 yards and 7 scores. Also contributing to the rushing attack Payne Petry and Javian Pesicka combined for 520 yards. Other key contributors catching the ball were Cruise Koupal and Carlos Galindo who combined for 645 receiving yards. Koupal and Knebel connected for 6 TD’s through the air as well. A few of those as well. One of those being the game winning score vs Winner in week 2 over Labor Day weekend. A play that will be hard to forget! All of the offense is not possible without contributions up front by our linemen. Seniors Kobe Drapeau, Trey Drapeau and Brayden Kreber led the group. Playing along side of them was Junior Trasin Dilts, sophomore Bennet Kuhlman. Others contributing were sophomore Bodie Chafin and Freshmen Robert Frei. Coach Greger’s men had an outstanding season!

Defensively Gannon Knebel lead us in tackles with 74.5. Carlos Galindo 35.5, Slaten Podzimek 31.5, Shea Kjeldgaard with 31, Payne Petry 27.5, and Brayden Kreber with 27. Shea Kjeldgaard had 3 sacks on the season that all resulted in a fumble. Among others with sacks Brayden Kreber also contributed 3, Bennet Kuhlman 2, Trasin Dilts 2, Gannon Knebel 2 Kobe Drapeau 2, and Trey Drapeau 2. Tackles for loss stat was led by Brayden Kreber with 5, and Trey Drapeau with 5. The secondary saw multiple members with interceptions, compiling 8 total. Ky Arpan led the team with 2 picks and one was returned for a game sealing touchdown vs Mount Vernon. Cruise Koupal, Slaten Podzimek, Jesse Zephier, Carlos Galindo, Gannon Knebel, and Payne Petry also all with an interception.
