STUDENTS DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY

What do friends, snacks, door prizes, music and Halloween decorations have to do with each other? Not much in themselves, but everything when you are a middle school student and it is your first big dance of the school year!

AC/DC CROSS COUNTRY ENDS REGULAR SEASON

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder Cross Country Runners completed their regular season at the Parkston Invite last Thursday, October 4, and are at the Regional Meet today in Freeman.

Bud and Bernie Koupal of Dante, and Randy and Lisa Weier of Tyndall are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their children Kimberly Koupal and Scott Van Winkle. Kimberly graduated from Wagner Community School in 2014 and is currently attending South Dakota State University.

GARCIA GRADUATES FROM UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA MORRIS

MORRIS, Minn. (Oct. 2, 2018) - JoMarie Garcia, of Lake Andes, received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology. Morris is the University of Minnesota's public liberal arts college, a residential campus located in west central Minnesota.

LIBRARY NEWS

The City Library will be holding a book sale Oct. 20th-Oct. 27th. Books will sell at 10 cents each or 12 books for a dollar during the sale. After the sale they will be selling for 25 cents each.

This Week in ROTARY NEWS

Rotarian Dave Isebrands rang the bell signifying the start of the October 3rd meeting with the comment “This is the first time I have rung this bell in probably 30 years!” Dave was substituting for President Jerry Weber who was absent for business reasons.

FARM & AG Due to low commodity prices, many of you are planning on storing grain until prices get to a profitable level. Some elevators and grain facilities are telling producers no grain will be taken unless it was contracted with them.

October 8th is a big day at the Lake Andes City Library! It is the kick –off date for the Young Adult Reading Program (YARP) across the state of South Dakota. This year the library will be focusing on the Middle School Selections.
