STUDENTS DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY
What do friends, snacks, door prizes, music and Halloween decorations have to do with each other? Not much in themselves, but everything when you are a middle school student and it is your first big dance of the school year!
Wagner Middle School students and chaperones gathered at the Wagner Community School Friday evening so the students could get together for some good old fashioned dancing fun. The middle school provided the students with the “get together” for the purpose of just having fun with their friends and classmates. The evening included Halloween decorations, a concession stand, a chance to win some unusual door prizes, dance contests, group dances and lots of great dancing music provided by Dana Sanderson.
Pictured here are some of the students having fun dancing to a favorite dance tune just before a contest was held to win a tasty bottle of “bug ooze” or a bag of “elk poop” to enjoy. The students had a great time joking about the different funny named prizes that were awarded during the evening, all in the name of having fun with your friends. The unusual prizes had been purchased at Minnesota’s biggest candy store just for the event. The Middle School staff that helped chaperone the school dance are to be commended for volunteering their time to help bring the students together for some good old fashioned fun. Going to school involves a lot more than books and work. Learning to socialize and interact in different ways than the classroom is an important part of that learning process.
