We just finished up our 5-week Summer Reading Program at the Boys and Girls Club in Wagner. The Summer Reading Program is for ages 4-7 with the assistances of helpers. During this program we read a variety of books that co-existed with an Art Project. This program runs from 9:45-11a.m.

Summer Programming is an exciting and eventful time at the Wagner Community School. This summer, our program will run from July 8th- August 2nd. We run a four-week program that is open to any students in grade Kindergarten-7th who are currently enrolled in our district.

Jonathan Frantz and Callie Wilson celebrated their marriage with family and friends May 25 with Reverend Ellen Y. Swain as the celebrant.

Greet Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary met June 20 at the post home with eight members present. President Juanita Stone called the meeting to order, Chaplain Margie Stone opened with a prayer from the Legionette.

President Jerry Weber rang the bell for the last time in his term of office from July 2018 to July 2019. His last ring was very even tempered, and we congratulate him on finally reaching the right decibels.

The Learning Camp is coming in soon! The dates are Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12. Several volunteers from Maryland are returning. Many Yankton Sioux and other children have attended in the past. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided. Breakfast is served 8:30 to 9:30.

Greer Post #11 American Legion held its monthly meeting on June 20, 2019 at the post home. Commander Robert Kucera called the members to attention. Chaplain Donald Kotab gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

MITCHELL — Dakota Wesleyan University has announced the 2019 spring semester dean’s list. There are 213 students on this spring’s list and to qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 on a four-point scale.
