IHANKTONWAN LEARNING CAMP CELEBRATES ITS 10TH YEAR!

The Learning Camp is coming in soon! The dates are Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12. Several volunteers from Maryland are returning. Many Yankton Sioux and other children have attended in the past. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided. Breakfast is served 8:30 to 9:30. The classes begin at 9:30 and dismissal is at 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 1 p.m., on Friday. During the day, lessons in math, reading, art and music are offered along with lots of fun and games. This event is free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, July 9 from 5:30 to 7:30, a Community Picnic will be held near the Girls Dorm in Marty. Food and music will be provided. Stay tuned for the announcement on the Fort Randall Television local Channel 7 and with KDKO 89.5.

The camp is held in partnership with Cedar Church across from Fort Randall Hotel/Casino and the Greenwood Church. Members at Cedar Church include Mary and Nick Antelope-Stotz, Natalie Medicine Bear, Bob FlyingHawk, Mike Horned Eagle, Judy, Ann, Kenny and Roxie Honomichl, Bonnie Coenen, Rudy Jovanovic and their families.

Free transportation will be available on a limited basis from Greenwood and Tax Credit. Other arrangements can be discussed by contacting Robin Bissell.
