Progress continues on the quarter-mile section of U.S. 281 that washed away when the Spencer Dam collapsed March 14th. Hawkins Construction of Omaha was awarded the $25.5 million contract to rebuild the Highway 281 bridge over Niobrara River south of Spencer, NE.

This year marked the 36th annual Bobby Soukup Memorial Men's Softball Tournament. Many people from near and far came together in Dante to remember the incredible man who is no longer with us.

July 3rd was a beautiful sunny day for the Wagner Rotary Club to gather at the Rotary Picnic Shelter at Wagner Lake. Attendance was great and everyone enjoyed the picnic meal prepared by Wagner Super Foods.

10 Years Ago - 2009 Wade Zephier and Laken Nedved announced the birth of Braxton Maxine Zephier. Construction on the Yankton Sioux Tribe Community Center in Lake Andes was getting concrete for sidewalks and a parking lot. Bids for construction at the Andes Central School were being taken.

Our “reading” miles to the moon have increased by almost 5000 miles in one week. Thanks to all our patrons for your great effort.

Several 4-H members participated in the 2019 Charles Mix—Bon Homme County Horse Show in Springfield n June 20. Approximately 30 youth from Charles Mix and Bon Homme County participated in this year’s county horse show. All youth may compete at the South Dakota State Horse Show July 22-24 in Huron.

Strong families have always been the backbone of South Dakota. The kitchen table is where we learn our values. The backyard is where we learn to respect each other. The bedroom is where we learn how to pray.
