Monday, May 3rd the Avon Elementary Music Department put on a Spring Operetta called HATS! By John Jacobson and John Higgins. It was directed and Choreographed by Mrs. Autumn Schultz. The elementary students had a blast showing off their hats and moves.

RESULTS FROM AC/DC INVITE

On Saturday, May 1, ACDC hosted the AC/DC Invitation Track Meet and the Thunder Ladies took first as a team. The results are as follows. Boys: 800-Peter Backes 3rd 2:20.48 1600-Peter Backes 6th 5:26.

CHARLES MIX VFW 2021 SCHOLARSHIPS

The two $1000.00 scholarships were presented by Commander Merritt Stegmeier to Avery Schacht (center) and Jaiden Longe (right). The Scholarships were presented at the Andes Central High School Academic Awards Assembly, held Monday, May 3rd.

Library news

The library has opened the door to our patrons during our open hours. We are still requiring masks and the use of hand sanitizer. Employees are continuing sanitizing computers and areas used by patrons. We have added many DVDs to our collection in recent months.

NON-SERVICE- CONNECTED PENSION

Veterans Pension is a ‘needs based’ benefit paid to wartime veterans who have limited or no income and net worth. Additionally, to qualify for pension, the veterans must be age 65 or older or, if under age 65, must be permanently and totally disabled.

ENJOYING DAKOTA SENIOR MEAL RESTART EVENT

Several Wagner area residents were able to once again get together and enjoyed some good food and especially the chance to once again be able to socialize as they had before the pandemic started.
