ENJOYING DAKOTA SENIOR MEAL RESTART EVENT

By

Several Wagner area residents were able to once again get together and enjoyed some good food and especially the chance to once again be able to socialize as they had before the pandemic started. The Dakota Senior Meal Program is once again back to serving the noon meal at the Parkview Villa apartments in Wagner. The “Welcome Back Meal” included baked chicken, mash potatoes and gravy, corn and a desert. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the meal and several commented on how tasty the meal was. Those in attendance commented that it was really nice to get together again with their friends to enjoy a meal. The Dakota Senior Meal Program makes it possible for people to enjoy a nutritious meal and be able to socialize once again, something that many said they really missed during this past year. Although the meals had been delivered to their homes during this time, what was really missing was the time to be with others and visit.

To help draw attention the program once again starting the noon meal programing, the Parkview Villa apartments also offered had a special “Welcome Back Cake” and also held an “Open House”. This gave anyone who was interested the chance to see what an apartment looked like in case they may be just wanting to know just for the sake of knowing or had been thinking about the possibility of moving into an apartment and were considering possibly giving up their home because the responsibilities were getting to great. To add to the open house atmosphere, Roy King and Friends brought their entertainment talent to the event and played several country tunes and also played some “sing along” tunes as well. The event was a great success in helping to show case the Senior Meals Program in Wagner.
