SIBLINGS ATTENDING AHS

Siblings in school can have many different opinions about each other. After talking to a couple of siblings in the school I realized that siblings could have very different views of each other. Most siblings agreed that having a sibling in school is useful and helpful sometimes.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRINCIPAL

Lindsey Fathke became the new K-12 principal this year at Avon School District. Lindsey started at Avon as a sixth grade teacher, and continued for four years. Before Avon she taught at Bon Homme for eight years.

MR. BRAD POPPE’S 33RD YEAR IN AVON

SCHOENFELDER MEDALS AT CHAMBERLAIN

The Chamberlain Cross Country Meet, held last Thursday September 15, featured some of the top runners in the state. Pierce Baumberger of Miller ran an impressive 16:49 5K and Isabelle Bloker from Sioux Valley topped the girls field in 18:56.

AC/DC VOLLEYBALL RESULTS

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian fell to Platte-Geddes on Monday, September 12th. The set scores were 19-25, 1625, 15-25.

WAGNER BOYS GOLF COMPETES IN WINNER

The boys golf team traveled to Winner on Tuesday, September 13th for the Winner Golf Invitational. Wagner brought 6 golfers to the event with two competing in varsity and six competing in junior varsity. Matt Link (15th) and Colby Krcil (25th) were the varsity golfers at the event for Wagner.

RAIDERS HOST REDMEN OF SISSETON

The Wagner Red Raiders hosted the Redmen of Sisseton Friday night. It was win number two on the season for the Raiders edging their opponent 14-0. The Raiders rolled up 281 total yards of offense on the night, while only allowing 69 yards on the defensive side of the ball.

RAIDERS PUT AWAY THE PIRATES

The Lady Raider volleyball team was in action on Tuesday, September 13th and took on the Avon Lady Pirates. The Raiders came away with the win with scores of 25-11, 25-11, and 25-15. Leading the offense were seniors Emma Yost with 12 kills, Avari Bruguier 8 kills, and Shalayne Nagel 7.

LADY RAIDERS BRING HOME THE HARDWARE FROM THE CLASH

The Wagner Volleyball team traveled to Tyndall on Saturday, September 17th to take part in the Cavalier Clash which is a sixteen-team tournament. The Lady Raiders came ready to play and went 6-0 in the tournament. The girls played with focus and great energy and were crowned champions.
