WAGNER SWEEPS THE TRAPPERS

The Lady Raiders hosted the Scotland/Menno Trappers last Thursday night in girls basketball action. Wagner’s shooting would start off kind of cold the first half getting quite a few good looks but the ball just wouldn’t fall through the cylinder.

WAGNER PICKS UP NON CONFERENCE WIN ON THE ROAD

The Lady Raider traveled to Corsica to take on the Jaguars last Tuesday night in girls basketball action. Corsica- Stickney would jump out to an early 14-8 lead after the first quarter.

LADY PIRATES ROLL PAST THUNDER, GIVE COACH POPPE 500TH WIN

The Avon Lady Pirates traveled to Lake Andes on Thursday evening, January 22, to take on the Andes Central/ Dakota Christian Thunder in a double-header and came away with an impressive 60-30 victory. Avon set the tone early and never looked back, building momentum on both ends of the floor.

AVON LADY PIRATES ROLL PAST K/WL, 53–20

The Avon Lady Pirates were on the road Monday night, January 19, taking on Kimball/White Lake and turned in a strong performance to earn a 53–20 victory. Rilyn Thury led all scorers with 24 points and was dominant on both ends of the floor, adding 11 rebounds and 6 steals.

LADY PIRATES CRUISE PAST VIBORG-HURLEY

The Avon Lady Pirates hosted Viborg-Hurley on Tuesday evening, January 20, and put together a strong team effort to earn a convincing 54-24 victory. Rilyn Thury led the Pirates on the scoreboard with 23 points, while Jordyn Voigt added 11 and Brielle Voigt chipped in 10.

AVON POWERLIFTING PROGRAM BUILDS STRENGTH & CONFIDENCE

Powerlifting has quietly become a steady and growing part of the Avon School District’s activities, and under the guidance of Coach Kamron Haase, the Avon Pirates powerlifting team continues to build both strength and camaraderie.

PIRATES FALL IN TIGHT ROAD LOSS

The Avon Pirates boys basketball team traveled to Lake Andes on January 22 and put together a strong effort, but came up short as time expired, falling 52–49 to ACDC. Avon battled throughout the night and stayed within striking distance until the final buzzer.

AVON BOYS CRUISE PAST KIMBALL-WHITE LAKE, 75–31

The Avon boys took the court following the Lady Pirates’ win against Kimball-White Lake and delivered another strong performance, earning a 75–31 victory. Dominic Doom led the Pirates with 25 points while adding 8 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
