The Bon Homme/Scotland/ Avon girls participated in tournaments at Battle Creek, Neb. (January 19), Pierre (January 23), and Chamberlain (January 24). Battle Creek Tournament Hadlee Kracht took the championship at 130, Charlie Faehnrich-120 JV was second, with third place to Bailey Kemnitz-140 and Hope Kemnitz-190, and a fourth to Sydney Johnson-115 giving the BHSA girls sixth place out of 27 teams. Hadlee K racht-130 won all four matches by fall over KristyAna Linder (Ord) in :35, over Peyton Thelen (Randolph) in 1:12, over Kelly Tran (Lincoln North Star) in 5:07, and in the championship over Madalyn Pistulka (West Holt) in 3:44 for first. Charlie Faehnrich-120 JV won by fall over Leilah Bratcher (Wayne), lost to Natalie Mimick (North Bend Central) by fall in 4:17, and won by fall in :22 over Arianna De La Isla Cardenas (Wayne) to finish second in the round robin format. Bailey Kemnitz-140 went 3-1 winning by fall over Abby Arroyo (Summerland) in 1:51, lost by fall to eventual champion Nyla Bolles (Wayne) in 1:16, won by fall in 1:28 over Delylla Olson (Fullerton), and in the consolation match won by fall over Lacey Kuchar (Battle Creek) in 1:31 to finish third. Hope Kemnitz-190 was 4-1 winning by fall over Lainey Meyer (Wayne) in :38, by fall over Nadine Williams (NEN) in :57, lost by fall to eventual runner-up Jaelyn Shaver (St. Marys) in 1:26, won by medical forfeit over Candace Miller (Pierce), and in the consolation match won by fall over Natalee Nelson (Wakefield) in :42 for third. Sydney Johnson-115 was 3-2 winning by fall over Kaitlyn Mahaney (NEN) in 1:19, by fall over Abbey Wolken (West Point-Beemer) in 3:09, losing to eventual champion Allie Oligmueller (West Holt) by fall in 1:46, winning by fall over Tae Settje (Laurel-Concord-Coleridge) in 1:36, and in the consolation match, losing to Bailey Gress (High Plains Community) by fall in 2:25 for fourth. Tatum Palsma-100 had a bye, lost to eventual champion Brynlee Wells (Battle Creek) by fall in 1:19, and lost a 11-2 major decision to third-place finisher Claire Christensen (Norfolk Catholic). Harper Kracht-125 had a bye, lost to Katelyn Walsh (Wakefield) by fall in 1:02, won by medical forfeit over Keirsten Heinrichs (Thayer Central), and lost by fall to fourth-place finisher Chloe Kokes (Ord) in 3:15. Host Battle Creek won the team title with 164 points, followed by West Holt-141, Ord110.5, Lincoln North Star-93.5, West Point-Beemer-90, Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon-sixth with 83, Wayne-80, Pierce-49.5, Norfolk Catholic-44, and Tri County Northeast-44 listing the top ten teams out of 27. Pierre Lady Governors Tournament Five BHSA girls placed with Britney Rueb-first, Jasmine Ruelas-Hertz-second, and third place finishes to Hadlee Kracht-130, Bailey Kemnitz-140, and Hope Kemnitz-190 giving them fourth place out of 18 teams. Britney Rueb-135 won all three matches by fall over Miley Janak (Burke/Gregory) in 1:13, over seventh-rated Jocelyn Rumpca (Webster Area) in 1:43, and in the championship over fourth-rated at 140 Mathilde Matsuda (Spearfish) in 3:01 for first. Jasmine Ruelas-Hertz-120 had a bye, won by fall over Teegin Livermont (Bennet Co.) in 1:13, won by fall over Nevada McMahon (Lead-Deadwood) in 1:38, and in the championship lost a 11-10 decision to fifth-rated Tahnie Yellow Hawk (Sully Buttes) for second. Hadlee Kracht-130 went 4-1 with wins over Jada Tomek (Douglas/Rapid City Christian) by fall in 1:03, over Kyla Lee (Lead-Deadwood) by fall in 1:52, lost a 9-7 decision to eventual champion and third-rated Cateri Yellow Hawk (Sully Buttes), won by fall over Jersey Lewis (Pierre) in 2:23, and in the consolation match won by fall over Daytona Paris (Burke/Gregory) in 2:00 for third. Bailey Kemnitz-140 was 3-1 with wins over Kimberlyn Heisler (Spearfish) by fall in 3:05, lost to second-rated and eventual champion Kezrey Benning (Pierre) by fall in 1:22, won over Harper Wenger (Burke/ Gregory) by fall in 1:59, and in the consolation match won by fall in 2:01 over Neva Austin (Hot Springs) for third. Hope Kemnitz-190 was 3-1 with wins over Bailee Taft (Pierre) by fall in :56, lost to third-rated and eventual champion Marlee Heitzel (Spearfish) by fall in 4:34, won by fall over Brylee Bilges (Hot Springs) in 1:17, and in the consolation match won by fall in 1:37 over LaHayla Antoine (Todd Co.) for third. Tatum Palsma-100 lost a 10-1 major decision to eventual runner-up Ryder Stephens (Spearfish), won by fall in :33 over Marley Snyder (Hot Springs), and lost a 5-0 decision to eventual fourth-place finisher Bree Risse (Bennett Co.). Sydney Johnson-115 lost by fall in 1:16 to eventual fourthplace finisher Kendyll Risse (Bennett Co.), won by fall in 2:20 over Abby Blaha (Pierre), and lost a 14-3 major decision to eventual third-place finisher Macee McGregor (Webster Area). Charlie Faehnrich-115 lost by fall in 1:21 to eventual champion and second-rated at 120 Savannah Bell (Custer), won by fall in 2:12 over Evelyn Coughlin (Pierre), and lost by fall in 1:53 to eventual fourth place finisher Kendyll Risse (Bennett Co.). Harper Kracht-125 had a bye, lost to eventual runner-up Sadie Schomp (Bennett Co.) by fall in 2:28, won by fall over Cameron Larson (Pierre) in 2:02, and lost to eventual fourth-place finisher Jayden Werlinger (Spearfish) by fall in 3:48. Spearfish won with 157.5 points, followed by Pierre T.F. Riggs-125, Hot Springs-118, fourth to Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon-109, Lead-Deadwood-85.5, Harding Co.-77.5, Sully Buttes-67, Bennett Co.- 64.5, Custer-41.5, and Webster Area-41.5 for the top ten teams out of 18. Chamberlain River City Rumble With three champions (seven place-winners), BHSA won the tournament scoring 127.5 points. Standing on the top step were Jasmine Ruelas-Hertz-120, Hadlee Kracht-130, and Britney Rueb-135 with seconds to Bailey Kemnitz-140, and Hope Kemnitz-190, third to Harper Kracht-125, and Syndey Johnson-115 was fourth. Jasmine Ruelas-Hertz-120 won by fall over Loey Lingeman (Lyman) in :49, over Aine Graesser (Chamberlain) by technical fall in 4:21, and in the championship by fall in 1:58 over eighth-rated Danny Borja (Mitchell) for first. Hadlee Kracht-130 had a bye, won by fall in :45 over Felicity Ziemer (Douglas/Rapid City Christian), and in the championship by fall in :51 over Eh Ku Shee (Huron) for first. Britney Rueb-135 had a bye, won by fall in :53 over Adeline Lyons (Harding Co.), and in the championship by fall in 1:32 over Zoey Donovan (Chamberlain) for first and reaching a milestone of 150 career wins. Bailey Kemnitz-140 had a bye, won by fall in 2:52 over Mackenzie Mueller (Milbank), and in the championship lost to Lilliya Meek (Faith Area) to finish second. Hope Kemnitz-190 won by fall in :15 over Jewelie Ducheneaux (Cheyenne Eagle Butte), over Nikolena Lang (Douglas/ Rapid City Christian) by fall in 2:55, and lost a 13-11 decision to Kyra Tostenson (Milbank) to finish second. Harper Kracht-125 was 3-1, had a bye, won by fall in 2:31 over Brie Dollick (Upton, Wyoming), lost a 12-4 major decision to eventual runner-up Moo B Say (Huron), won by fall in :46 over Marlie Whitaker (Mitchell), and in the consolation match won a 13-2 major decision over Tierney Reindl (Kimball/White Lake/ Platte-Geddes) for third. Sydney Johnson-115 had a bye, lost to eventual runner-up Natalie Norman (SF O'Gorman) by fall in 2:50, won a 5-3 decision over Aleshka Oyola-Rodriguez (Huron), and in the consolation match lost by fall in 1:18 to Jaxynn Norman (Upton, Wyoming) for fourth place. Tatum Palsma-100 lost a 4-3 decision to fourth-place finisher Lizzy Fees (Faith Area), won by fall in :45 over Joanna Marroquin (Chamberlain), and lost a 12-9 decision to third-place finisher Penny Neubauer (Upton, Wyoming). Charlie Faehnrich-115 unattached lost to Aleshka Oyola-Rodriquez (Huron) by fall in 1:05, and lost to third-place finisher Jaxyn Norman (Upton, Wyoming). BHSA won with 127.5 points, followed by Huron-108, Mitchell-101, Harding Co.-84, Chamberlain-74.5, Upton-58, Lyman-50, Milbank-44, Wagner-42, Sisseton-39, Winner-28.5, Faulkton Area-20, Douglas/RC Christian-19, SF O'Gorman-18, Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes-13, Faith-9, and Cheyenne Eagle Butte-4. Comments: At Chamberlain, we were trailing Huron most of the tournament and challenged our girls in the wrestle-backs and placement matches and they came through. Congratulations to the team on their threepeat. Hadlee had a good week wrestling well winning two tournaments. Congratulations to Britney for her 150th career win.
