UNITED METHODIST WOMEN CELEBRATE 150 YEARS

United Methodist Women celebrated their 150 years of UMW legacy with a cake on Sunday, March 24. The UMW History program was talked about as part of the church worship sermon and doing their UMW Sunday that day, too.

Rich Dufur

Rich Dufur retired after dedicating almost 22 years of service to Mike Durfee State Prison and the Department of Corrections. Warden Brent Fluke commented that "Rich carries himself in the utmost professional manner and while he has high standards for those he supervises, he expects more of himself.

AARP Meeting

The Wagner, SD AARP Chapter 962 Meeting, Tuesday March 19, 2019, 12:30 p.m. was opened with Pres. Jane presiding and leading us all in saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. Old Business: Last month’s business meeting was read by secretary Dona.

IRS LETTERS COMING

Remember the new postcard tax return? Well, this shortened version of a tax return has fewer lines (seemingly to fit a certain smaller size.) So, the Form 1040 does not foot, by IRS design. In other words, you cannot add the numbers presented and arrive at the final result.

MARK'S MACHINERY OPEN HOUSE

Mark's Machinery held their annual open house Thursday, March 28. Several stopped in to check out the new equipment on hand, listen to presentations, talk with representatives and approximately 350 enjoyed the delicious meal at noon.

HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS IN NEBRASKA

Several pallets of water were delivered to Nebraska thanks to Wagner Super Foods this week. Several area businesses have been helping out with donations of water, farm and cattle equipment, clothing, shoes and etc.

Just Thought I'd Ask

Man was created by God to love honor and serve him. As it came to pass around 4000 years man had fallen into sin against God and rejected God. All had turned their backs on God. God gave man several chances to turn back to Him, but man refused to do it.

FLOODING CONTINUES AROUND LAKE ANDES

The flooding continues around Lake Andes as another "Road Closed" sign was found on 383rd Avenue on the east side of Lake Andes. To help prevent damage volunteers from the Lake Andes Fire Department sandbags for members of the community dealing with flood issues.
