United Methodist Women celebrated their 150 years of UMW legacy with a cake on Sunday, March

24. The UMW History program was talked about as part of the church worship sermon and doing their UMW Sunday that day, too.

In 1856 Methodist Mission was started by two women and in 1869 United Methodist Women was founded. UMW has 800,00 members who raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. The Ladies Aid Society was organized in Wagner on January 6, 1904 and in 1968 was called United Methodist Women.
