LOCAL AMONG LAKE AREA TECHNICAL INSTITUTE GRADUATES

The 53rd Annual Lake Area Technical Institute graduation ceremony was held Friday, May 8 with 863 graduates receiving their diplomas. Due to COVID-19 and the Center for Disease Control guidelines for large gatherings, the Lake Area Tech Commencement Ceremony was held virtually to over 5000 viewers.

Library news

The Lake Andes Library board is the controlling body for our public library. They make suggestions to the librarian, make requests to the city council on behalf of the library and hire workers for the library. We meet quarterly and our next meeting will be June 9th.

RACING ACTION BEGINS AT WAGNER SPEEDWAY

Several local drivers took the opportunity to test out the new Wagner Speedway track Friday evening in anticipation of the 2020 racing season which gets underway Saturday, June 6 beginning with the annual Car Show and Test and Tune Practice Night. The Car Show will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
