ANDES CENTRAL SCHOOL BOARD MOVES FORWARD WITH OPT-OUT

The Andes Central School Board voted to approve a $400,000 general fund opt-out for ten (10) years. The first question most may ask is “why is an opt-out necessary?” And, the second question may be, “how will this affect my taxes?” Why is an opt-out necessary?

ROCS TO PROVIDE COVID RELATED EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE

The Rural Office of Community Services, Inc. (ROCS) of Wagner, SD has been awarded CSBG CARES Act Funds to provide emergency assistance to income-qualified individuals and families who have experienced financial distress due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The race of Charles Mix County Commissioner for District 2 between incumbent Neil Von Eschen and challenger Colin Soukup brings a new face to the board as Soukup took the win with 139 votes to Von Eschen's 94.
