HOLDS A REORGANIZATION MEETING

The Avon Chamber of Commerce held their first meeting since the onset of COVID-19 on February 8th. Officers elected were Laurie Jurrens as president and Loren Jurrens as co-president, Dale Buchholz as secretary and Florence Powers retaining the treasurer's position.

DISASTER MITIGATION MEETING PLANNED FOR FEBRUARY 25TH

Blizzards, tornadoes, and floods are a few of the natural hazards that strike this part of the country. Events like this have the potential of causing thousands of dollars annually in damage to property.

FIREMEN BRAVE THE COLD TO FIGHT MOTEL FIRE

The Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance and Avon Police Department responded to a structure fire on the Northwest side of Avon Sunday morning. Firefighters were hampered by the frigid temperatures, but were able to keep the fire from spreading to the motel rooms.

The Wagner/Bon Homme Varsity Gymnasts will be participating at the State Tournament Friday, February 12th in Aberdeen. Those participating at state are: Jenny Barnett, Alcista Dion, Mia Dion, Jenna Duffek,Skye Kotalik, RaeLee Lanphear, Faith Podzimek, Alexys Rueb and Briley Steffensen.
