FIREMEN BRAVE THE COLD TO FIGHT MOTEL FIRE
The Avon Fire Department, Avon Ambulance and Avon Police Department responded to a structure fire on the Northwest side of Avon Sunday morning. Firefighters were hampered by the frigid temperatures, but were able to keep the fire from spreading to the motel rooms. One of the residents of the building sustained minor injuries.
NorthVue Motel is owned by 605 Estates with owners Mitch Breen and Josh Cuka. Breen commented the Avon Fire Department notified them that the fire was caused by electrical. The ten motel rooms received no damage. The manager of the motel, who called 911, received some minor burns to his hands as he was trying to put out the fire, but is doing okay.
