Haley Rogers of Brookings was a visitor last Tuesday in the home of her aunt, Lynn and Jon Stather. Todd Weber of Menno, Derick Gunther, Nikki Weber and Jayce and Brecklynn of Mitchell were visitors on Saturday in the home of Jim and Shirley Yonkers. They all went out for dinner.

FIRST GRASS FIRE OF THE NEW YEAR

On March 7th, at 12:34 p.m., members of the Avon Fire Department responded to their first grass fire of the new year at a farm southeast of Avon. Prior to arrival, the landowner was able to keep the fire from spreading to a row of trees.

Library news

The library board will meet at 4:45 on Tuesday, March 9th at the library. It is a public meeting. Please wear masks if you plan to attend. With the exceptionally warm weather for March people are enjoying time outdoors and thinking that Spring has sprung.
