The Wagner Community Memorial Hospital Avera Auxiliary held a short meeting on April 27, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. before the Spring Tea at the Wagner Theater. There were 21 members present. President Pearl W. called the meeting to order. No reports were given. Marlene S.

As graduation swiftly approaches, the seniors are busily preparing for life outside of high school. Each one prepared to make their mark on adulting in their own way. Samantha Brodeen will be attending USD for business. Haden Cahoy will be attending DSU for animation.

At 8:00 am on April 11, the seniors departed from Avon for Maryville, MO with chaperones Kathy Blaha, Connie Gretschmann and Dean DeJong. They headed first to the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo.

STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN POPPY POSTER CONTEST

Avon students made poppy posters to be judged by the American-Legion Auxiliary. According to legion-aux.org, the red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars.

SOON-TO-BE GRADUATES EXPERIENCE SENIORITIS

Senioritis is defined as “a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance.” As spring arrives, teachers tend to watch seniors suffer through senioritis.

AHS EXPERIENCES

Sometimes people will make a joke when someone has trouble doing simple math. “Were you able to count that high with your shoes on?” Well, shoes off Tuesday, April 19, would have been very appropriate! It was Fingers and Toes Day at Avon School.
