Dwight Wood Post #132 of Springfield is holding their third annual golf tournament on Saturday, August 10 at the Springfield Golf Course.

Mackenzie Meiers and Jake Hupke are excited to announce their wedding engagement. The wedding is planned for this October, in Sioux Falls. Mackenzie is a 2017 graduate from Avon High School and a 2019 graduate from Lake Area Technical Institute with an associate’s degree in dental assisting.

10 Years Ago – 2014 Jacob Reeves represented South Dakota as a delegate for the National Youth Science Camp. Bernice Heusinkveld was celebrating her 90th birthday and a card shower was requested in her honor. Kevin and Naomi Kocer announced the birth of their son, Camden Kevin.

The Lake Andes Public Library had a fun summer of activities held for local children.

Did you know that the Lake Andes Public Library has puzzles for check out. Many have been donated by patrons who enjoy completing a puzzle. Something to do on these very hot, very humid days to come.

The library offers a unique program open to all children interested that are not of kindergarten age. The program, 1000 books before kindergarten, allows any child to be read 1000 books before they start kindergarten.

Fort to Field 50 Paddle Battle was held. More than 100 racers took the challenge to either canoe or kayak the 50 mile stretch of river.
