The Community Bank of Avon held their Drive Through Grand Opening on November 7th. The celebration gave local patrons the opportunity to check out the new drive through, enjoy some delicious coffee with a coffee truck on site, and drive through customers signed up for door prizes.
10 Years Ago – 2014
The first snowfall of the year hit, and neighborhood kids were seen building and defending their snow forts. This snowfall brought over five inches of snow over the course of the weekend. Amanda DeJong and Tyler Leighton were married. The Jolly Roger – Mr.
Tyler Hofer is being honored as Lake Andes’ November Veteran of the Month. Hofer is a Veteran of the Iraq War. He first enlisted in the United States Navy in 2004 after graduating from Andes Central.

Andes Central teachers were honored during American Education Week.
A card shower was requested in honor of Louis and Ann Otte who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Andes Central held their Veterans Day Program with guest speaker Mark Roberts.

The Wagner Rotary club held a weekly meeting on Wednesday, November 13. President Jordan Weber called the meeting to order with a rap on the Rotary bell. Weber then offered a prayer for our meal and mission.
Hollmann Apiaries is a family owned and operated business that began in 1984 by Tim and Michelle Hollmann. Hollmann Apiaries all began when Tim took a summer job working for a beekeeper.
Wagner VFW Post 7319 hosted their annual Veterans’ Day Banquet on Monday, November 11. The event was held at the American Legion with social hour and dinner following.
Berndt Farm Equipment has been a part of the Avon community for the last 46 years, starting in 1978. Its location for being off the beaten path, is actually quite perfect as the site sits almost on the boarder of the Tripp, Tyndall, Scotland and Avon school districts.
