Wagner VFW Post 7319 hosted their annual Veterans’ Day Banquet on Monday, November 11. The event was held at the American Legion with social hour and dinner following.

Master of Ceremonies, Mark Roberts, recognized the leaders of the local VFW and Amercian Legion and Sons of the American Legion Posts and their Auxiliaries. City Mayor Tammy Thorton and husband, Jim, were also present at the banquet.

The VFW raffle for three guns was held during the evening. Those who won guns were Mike Kotab, Jayden Beeson, and Donna Ishmael.

Entertainment was provided by Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy students who read their essays.

The program continued with a slide show presentation of a trip Rose Eitemiller took to Vietnam as part of a study group with SDSU. Charles Mix County Veterans Service Officer, Jerry Seiner, also spoke to the group and asked them to encourage veterans to contact him with any veterans issues.

A tribute to the three deceased members of our post since Veterans Day 2023 was presented by Mark Roberts. The deceased veterans were Gary Beeson, Ray Anderson, and Norman Woods.

The banquet ended with the video and song, 'Angel Flight,' which was recorded by Radney Foster.
