10 Years Ago – 2014

Andes Central teachers were honored during American Education Week.

A card shower was requested in honor of Louis and Ann Otte who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Andes Central held their Veterans Day Program with guest speaker Mark Roberts.

Students from Andes Central attended the 68th annual band festival held in Aberdeen. Students included Nathan Herrold, Erica Kitchenmaster, Mikayla Petsche, Matthew Bryant, Shaylin Stotz, O’liveyah Habben and Ethan Weverka.

The Wagner Post and Lake Andes Wave photo of the week on the topic of pets went to Mary Ann Deurmier and her photo of her cat, Snickers.

20 Years Ago – 2004

Norm Cihak retired from his position as Charles Mix Auditor while Chris Pazour was appointed to assume the position.

An activities sign in front of the new gym at the Andes Central High School was donated by the Ray Chytka family in memory of Ray.

Danielle Walder, Patrisse Vasek, Janice Konyek and Matt Schultz took part in the Regional V 2004 Choral and Band Festival in Platte.

30 Years Ago – 1994

St. Mark’s youth group hosted a supper.

An open house was held at Bryndy’s Steakhouse and Lounge. The owners are Bryce and Cindy Broyhill and Dean and Mary Ann Mitchell.

40 Years Ago – 1984

Randy Sellers and Bobby Nelson were placed on the 1984 SESD All-Conference Football team.

Melissa Boetel was selected as the DAR Good Citizen candidate for Andes Central High School.

50 Years Ago – 1974

Carol Haar and Allen Florey were wed on November 30th.

Two new apartment buildings are being constructed at the northeast end of the boulevard.

The new elementary school is under construction.

60 Years Ago – 1964

All Conference Football squad announced selections were Dan Pipes and Ken Carda, offense; Jack Mead, defense; Kent Farmer defense for Pickstown; and Phillip Honomichl, offense for Ravinia. 70 Years Ago – 1954
