M ATTHEW 22:37-38 'Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.' (KJV) To be obedient to the Lord Jesus is saying it is more important to Him that we don't just love Him on Sunday--at church, but He is saying that our love for Him should be all day every day in our heart soul and mind.

He doesn't like it when people say they love Him but do not show it in their life.

He is not happy with just a little of our love or haphazard love for Him. He is God and wants us to love Him as our God should be loved.

He didn't go almost to the cross for us--He went all the way because He loved us that much. That is why He requires us to give Him all our love.

Then He wants us to love our neighbors as ourselves. We care for ourselves because we love ourselves.

We cannot love our neighbors if we run them down, speak unkindly about them, or refuse to help them when they are in need--or do not tell them of the free gift of salvation thru Jesus Christ. If you don't tell them then you do not love them.

These two commandments are very clear as to what God wants from us. He wants us to love, honor and serve Him-not self.

He gave Himself for us completely and He wants us to give ourselves to Him also.

If we don't tell others we don't love them---thus not following His commandments.
