VETERANS DAY BANQUET HELD

The annual VFW Post 7319 Veterans Day Banquet was held at the American Legion with a potluck supper at 7:00 p.m. on November 11. Toastmaster for the evening was Mark Roberts. The Invocation was given by Mark who then introduced officers of boththe VFW and American Legion and their Auxiliaries.

Greer Post #11 American Legion held its monthly meeting November 21, 2019 at the Post Home. Commander Robert Kucera called the members to attention. Chaplain Donald Kotab gave the invocation, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Wagner Hospital Auxiliary held its drawing for their quilt. Pictured is Pearl Weber, auxiliary president, Barb Johannesen, winner of the quilt and JoAnn Winckler, Auxiliary member. We appreciate everyone that bought  chances on our quilt.

SCHOOL DISTRICT EXPANSION NAMED PROPANE PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Prize money from a contest that sought outstanding building projects using propane for fuel was awarded to the Andes Central School District of Lake Andes on Monday night, Nov. 11. Jared Nesje, chief executive officer of TSP, Inc.

Michaela Kokes went around the crowd during the Recognizing Veteran with Roll call. Among the few to speak was Clayton Rados. Matthew Kokes was the winner of the 6th grade Patriots Pen. He was presented with a flag from Carol Kaberna.

The Charles Mix County Farm Service Agency (FSA) County Committee Election is being held this year in Local Administrative Area #3. This area includes La Roche, Lake George, Castalia, Hamilton, Forbes, Platte, Signal, Carroll, Darlington, Rhoda, and Jackson Townships.
