AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK

Once again, American Education Week is upon us. This celebration of public education began back in 1921 with the National Education Association pushing the effort with the American Legion as a co-sponsor. The Office of Education joined later, and the PTA joined the effort in 1938.

MISSOULA CHILDREN'S THEATRE'S PINOCCHIO FRIDAY AT MIS

The performance of the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s Pinocchio will be held Friday, Nov. 8 at 1:30 p.m., at Marty Indian School in the new gym. The cast of 50 to 60 will be picked from students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The public is invited to attend the performance at no charge.

Library news

The second in the Solid Finances webinar series will be available at the library on Wednesday, November 6th at 1:00. The topic for this week is “Renting vs. Buying: Key Factors to Consider”.

10 Years Ago - 2009 The Andes State Bank had a "Spooky" Halloween open house. Andes Central Students attend the agriculture and power sports camp at Mitchell Technical Institute. Kelsey Kniffen won the vampire anti-prom fashion design contest sponsored by the Andes Central High school library.

WAGNER GOOD SAMARITAN SOCIETY MAKES BLESSING BAGS FOR LOCAL FARMERS

Wagner Good Samaritan Society’s Helping Hands group has been meeting at least once a month collaborating on projects to benefit the community. In the past, the group has made prayer blankets, back to school bags for the kids, and the most recent project was Blessing Bags for the farmers.

VFW TO HOST VETERANS DAY BANQUET

VFW Post 7319 will host its annual Veterans Day Banquet at the American Legion Building on Monday, November 11, 2019. A social hour will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by a meal at 7:00 p.m. The banquet is open to the public.

VETERANS DAY PROGRA

Wagner Community School will be hosting a Veteran’s Day program on Monday, November 11 at 2:30 p.m., in the school gym. Recognition of members of the military will take place along with several student speakers and patriotic song performances. Refreshments will be served following the program.

LOCAL MODERN WOODMEN MEMBERS HONOR HOMETOWN HERO

Clayton Rados was honored on October 29th for countless hours of service to the community. Clayton was honored for involvement in community events in Wagner and Dante through Modern Woodmen of America’s Hometown Heroes Program.

LIVES LOST IN HOME EXPLOSION

Local volunteer firemen work to put out the fire from a house explosion Wednesday afternoon, October 30th at North Housing. Firemen begin to cut the rafters from the roof with a chainsaw as they prepare to lift off the roof in order to gain access to the basement area of the home.

HALLOWEEN COMMUNITY MEAL SERVED

A "Community Supper" was offered at Wagner Theater on Halloween featuring BBQ sandwich, baked beans, chips, salad and a drink with the cost "a free will offering". The money raised will be given to the Boys and Girls Club to help with their activities.
