I am planning to go to Kentucky for a couple weeks in July. I am doing a volunteer mission trip with the Christian Appalachian Project (CAP). People from many denominations will be volunteering there.

Library news

The library began summer programming last Monday, the 7th and have had a great turn out of students, but we would enjoy seeing more students. Some programs of interest still on the dock-it for this summer include: SD Ballet Performance, July 1st, at 2:00.

PFEIFER WINS PFOURTH, POESSNECKER TRIUMPHANT IN RETURN AT WAGNER

Following over an inch of rain early Friday morning, crews worked hard to get Wagner Speedway into race shape and the Fort Randall Casino Weekly Racing Series was on, presented by Koenig Lumber of Fairfax. Special guests to headline the show were the T&R Contracting Late Model Street Stock series.

GETTING STAMPEDE READY

The world should know that we will crack the gates on the 31st an-nual Burke Stampede Rodeo this July 16, 17, and 18 in Burke. It has been a rough year and a half in Stampede country. The tor-nado that tore through our communi-ty in August of 2019 did extensive damage to the Stampede Rodeo grounds.

WORK CONTINUES ON WATER AND SEWER PROJECT

Crews are busy working on the current water and sewer project. As construction costs have come in, more funding is available, so the city changed the order to add putting in new water and sewer lines on this portion of West Avenue. Photo by Scott Pechous.
