AVON HIGH SCHOOLERS EARN BOWLING PARTY

On January 28, the freshmen through seniors went to Yankton’s Bowl Family Fun Center for their Christmas party from the school. The high school is allowed to play two games for free and then, if they want to play more games, they have to pay for the extra games themselves.

Keegan McAdaragh

Keegan McAdaragh was born on July 24, 2004, to Bridgette (Sam) Muller and Jeff (Heidi) McAdaragh. He has two younger siblings, Kaydence and Kyzleigh Metzger. Keegan’s favorite subject in school is math because it's easy. His extracurricular activities include baseball and study hall.

A Look Back at Avon

February 1912 A leap year dance will be given at the Dante Hall from midnight till 2 a.m. on Thursday night. A basket social will be held at the Trumbo School on Friday night. John Vesper butchered for John Gramkow Monday. In the evening the Vesper young people helped make bologna.

Scott and Julie Crouse of Vermillion brought supper and a birthday cake to the home of Jim and Shirley Yonkers last Thursday night. They celebrated Shirley and Scott's birthday.

Library news

The Library Children's Garden is one of 50 recipients of Kid's Gardening grant for 2022. Each recipient will receive seeds, fertilizer, tools and a cash prize. The library plans to purchase grow lights so the library can start plants for transplanting to the outdoor garden space.

SEEING SHADOWS

Did the groundhog see his shadow this year? Every year on February 2, people gather in the small town of Punxsutawney in western Pennsylvania to observe the annual Groundhog Day ceremony. If the groundhog does see his shadow, he may retreat to his den and winter will last another six weeks.

Wagner Hospital Auxiliary

The Wagner Community Memorial Hospital - Avera Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on January 26, 2022 with ten members present. President Pearl W. called the meeting to order and members read the auxiliary prayer. Minutes of the October meeting were read and approved.
