A leap year dance will be given at the Dante Hall from midnight till 2 a.m. on Thursday night.
A basket social will be held at the Trumbo School on Friday night.
John Vesper butchered for John Gramkow Monday. In the evening the Vesper young people helped make bologna.
Will Schmidt's dog was found soon after the paper came out. He came and got him at the depot.
The Avon Bowling Team went to Tyndall to bowl. Bowling is good exercise.
February 1936
Avon was all snowed in over the weekend. Country roads were blocked in every direction. Pheasants are dying by the hundreds. The mail came in Tuesday for the first time since last Thursday.
The Juniors have a small amount of funds so the Seniors might have toad stools and watercress for their banquet. The Seniors say the blame is for disorganization of the Juniors.
A counterfeit $10 bill was found in Avon this week.
Dave and Lee Quartier and Cecil McLane are operating a sausage factory in California.
Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Schaefer have an 8 pound baby boy born on February 6th.
Jimmie Griffith entertained Dr. and Mrs. Greenfield to a dinner party at his home for his and Mrs. Greenfield's birthdays.

A hot 60 percent shooting for the Scotland downed the Pirates 55-89.
The new minister at the Freidensburg Mennonite Church is Rev. Peter Quiring from Nebraska.
Youth week was observed at the Danzig Church on Sunday.
The Fennema and Knoll Bull Sale will be held February 13th at the Wagner Sale Barn.

Bill Rauch was elected Chamber President replacing Gregg Hubner. Board members elected were Howard Elliott, Bev Cameron and Albert Simek.
The Avon Lioness met at the Mary Borin home. Delores Knudson and Rosalee Sternhagen had the program.
The Pirates now have a 10-1 record beating Tripp and Irene this week.
Dana Hento was honored on her 1st birthday at the Gus Hento home.
Mr. and Mrs. Steve Merkwan and Betty Lou Harmacek attended the Pierre basketball game in Yankton. The Merkwan's grandson, Trent plays for the Pierre Governors.
