China’s Communist government hates America. That may seem overly harsh or simple – but it’s a fact. They want to be the strongest nation on earth, and they see America standing in their way. Unfortunately, we have a President in Washington who is not taking this threat seriously.

It won’t be too long when the skies are covered up with migrating white, geese, Snows, Blues and Ross geese. This special season which opens in the Spring, was established to help put reduce the light geese numbers.

Two Andes Central FFA students and their advisor, Mr. Deneui, attended the State LDE in Pierre this week. Abigail competed in Ag Broadcasting and Emery represented our District as Student Advisor.

Library News

A reminder about library closures in case of bad weather, since it looks like we may get a winter storm this week. If the Andes Central School District does not have school the Lake Andes Public Library will also be closed. If the school closes early the library will also close early.

90 Years Ago A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Anderson, northeast of town at the Lacy hospital in Lake Andes V.J. Pesicka and C. H. Robertson were in Mitchell Wednesday. Ted Rutter returned Wednesday from Washta, Iowa, where he had been picking corn for several weeks.

WAGNER RESIDENTS OVERWHELMINGLY SUPPORT 4 LANE

In a 133 to 64 vote, the residents of Wagner soundly rejected the Wagner City Councils resolution of support for the state three-lane highway proposal. Leo Soukup commented, “I am very proud of our Wagner residents standing up for what is right for the city of Wagner.

FREI INSURANCE RIBBON CUTTING

A ribbon cutting and open house was held on Friday, December 9, to celebrate the improvements to the recently remodeled and relocated insurance office at 118 S Main. Frei Insurance Agency moved into the offices earlier this year and has been conducting business there since January 3, 2022.
