FELLOWSHIP FEAST

The Fellowship Feast was served at the United Methodist Church by the Dante First Catholic Slovak Ladies on June 22. The July 27th Fellowship Feast will be served by the United Methodist Women starting at 5:30 p.m.

SLABA RECEIVES AWARD

Presley Slaba of Wagner was presented with a monetary award for her entry in the “Get Excited for the Red, White and Blue” VFW Auxiliary National Singing Contest. She recorded a video solo vocal performance of The Star-Spangled Banner for her entry.

Rotary News

The July 19th meeting of the Wagner Rotary Club began with President Becky Brunsing giving the rotary bell a whack and producing a weak tone. Rotarian / Pastor Bill Heermann offered up thanks for the rainy day, prayers for consolation on those we have lost, and the food.

Michaela and Andy Schultze are proud to announce the arrival of their daughter, Emory Mae Schultze. She was born on May 21, 2023 in Sioux Falls. She weighed 7 lb. 14 oz and was 20.75” long. She joins her big brother Bennett.

AVON FIRE DEPT. COMPETES IN RIB FEST

Jarod Myer and Brady Petrik, representing the Avon Fire Deptartment, competed in the Charles Mix Lake Restoration Rib Fest on Sunday, July 2. There were 16 team participating in the event. A few of the Avon Fire Department members came to try out the teams ribs, including Dennis Dodge (pictured).

BARGAIN SHOPPE DONATIONS

The Bargain Shoppe in Tyndall has given away a total of $603,415. The volunteers have logged 1,629 hours so far this year! The Shoppe continues its mission “To promote selfless giving in Bon Homme County” by giving away $33,800 in 5 months.

LIBRARY NEWS

Reading is such as important skill to practice the year round. Summer slump in reading is a real thing. If your child or you need new reading materials the library has many new selections to choose from. Book check out is still happening at the old library located at 500 Main Street.
