Wagner Rotary members gathered on Wednesday, July 26th on the hottest day of the year so far. Thankful for air conditioning.

Hayden Talsma of Avon, who is 16 years old, had the opportunity to travel to Cabo in February 2023 on a Hope Haven International Ministries distribution trip. His mother, Tina Talsma, was also a part of the volunteer group.

The Annual Avon Volunteer Fire Department Appreciation Night was held Saturday, July 22nd with a meal followed by water fights and a street dance featuring Dustin Evans and the Good Times Band. Earning 1st place again this year was, (top left photo) Brady Petrik, Mike Petrik and Matthew Petrik.

Lucille and Josephine Schloss of Avon proudly announce the birth of their sister, Frances Julia, on June 8th, 2023. Frances weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and measures 19 3/4 inches long. Parents are Brooke and Chris. Grandparents are Ron and Carol Swier of Avon and Barry and Sandy Schloss of Yankton.

The third annual Avon Community Vacation Bible School is nearly here, and there is still time for families to register. Held at the Avon City Park, VBS is from 9 a.m. to noon July 31 to Aug. 4.

Summer programming at the library is concluding on Wednesday the 26th of July. We have held the programming in the building which will be the library soon, since it has given us the space we needed and a kitchen to complete snack food preparation.

Wagner and Dante Fire Departments traveled to Avon for the Avon Fire Department Appreciation Night and competed in the Water Fights. Both towns had two teams compete. Dante's team that consisted of Miko Kotab, Chris Doom and Joel Kotab took home third place. Photos by Jenna Petrik.
