REGISTER NOW FOR AVON COMMUNITY VBS
The third annual Avon Community Vacation Bible School is nearly here, and there is still time for families to register.
Held at the Avon City Park, VBS is from 9 a.m. to noon July 31 to Aug. 4. Hosted by First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, Friedensburg Bible Church and Danzig Baptist Church, VBS welcomes children in preschool (starting age 4) through sixth grade from all denominations.
Aaron Rush, pastor of Danzig Baptist and Friedensburg Bible churches, said the community VBS provides a wonderful opportunity for churches to work together.
“This allows us the ability to join together in making Jesus known to children and their families here in Avon,” Rush said. “Instead of having different churches doing their own thing, this community VBS creates a way that we can work together with the different resources God has gifted to us.”
The theme this year is “Keepers of the Kingdom: Standing Strong in Today’s Battle for Truth,” which will teach youth how to “put on the whole armor of God” and live righteously.
Rush noted that VBS is much more than just the days of the event. People from each church have been planning for months, and have committed to praying for the students, teachers, and helpers every hour of VBS during the week when it is taking place.
“Our prayer is that VBS would not only be a blessing for the community and its churches, but it would make an eternal impact on children and their families and they may grow into a greater understanding and relationship with Jesus Christ,” he said.
It is free to attend. To register, visit www.AvonVBS.com.
