Read moreDavid Woods has been a volunteer firefighter for the Wagner Volunteer Fire Department for the past 11 years. Woods is the current Assistant Chief for the department. This time next year, Woods will be chief of the department. An interesting detail about the Wagner Volunteer Fire Department is that serving as an officer is a six-year commitment starting with the secretary/treasurer position then moving to assistant chief and finally chief, serving two years in each position.

There were no guests present except for the program so she called upon Rotarian/Pastor Bill Herrmann to lead the members in prayer. Pastor Bill gave thanks for all the rain we have experienced and asked for prayers of comfort for those who have suffered the loss of a loved one in our community.

The honoree(s) selected should serve as a role model for compassion, service, strive to make the Yankton Sioux Reservation a better place and have a passion for helping others in the community.
