President Jerry Weber presided over the regular Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 noontime meeting of the Wagner Rotary Club. Rotarian Francis Doom led the group for the meal prayer. Kathe Henke led the singing of the Rotary song, “America the Beautiful” and guest Kristina Ymker played the piano.

As you might know, Betsy and I have a second home in Wisconsin just outside of Madison. It gives us the opportunity to be closer to two of our daughters and their families. With all of my health issues, Madison’s UW Hospital has also been God send for me.

Dear Editor: We wanted to inform you of some changes to the Lake Andes area that will begin 1/2/19. Effective on that date, prescriptions filled and delivered from James Drug in Wagner will be delivered to Cahoy's General Store (instead of Wollman's where they have been being delivered).

We come to the end of 2018, it might be a good time to look back over the year. Last year about this time people check themselves and find that there is some improvements to be made in their life, so they make resolutions to themselves to correct or improve on those things.

That road trip to the American Legion meeting of Post 11 in Wagner that Turk Peterka had planned worked out pretty good. He and I arrived at about 6:30 last Thursday evening at the Legion Hall, and that was just in time to get in line for a delicious prime rib supper.

I heard a story once that the grocer in my hometown ordered a barrel full of lutefisk in preparation for the holiday season. When the truck delivered it, the driver left the barrel sitting outside the back door to the store.
