Lori originates from Odebolt Iowa. She came to Wagner in 1985 as she obtained a job at the Wagner School teaching first grade. She taught for 16 years before moving into administration, where she stayed for another 18 years until she chose to retire.

The Lake Andes Public Library celebrated our participants who took part in programming at the library this summer and who also helped us reach for the moon in our summer reading program.

Seven runners for the Andes Central/Dakota Christian Sports Coop showed ready to run on the first day of practice this past Thursday, August 15. Retuning letter winners on the girls’ team are: 10th grader Sonja Hansum and 9th grader Isabelle Brouwer.

This fall the first Wagner Community School Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted. Now, the Hall of Fame Committee is looking for nominations for the Class of 2020! There are nomination forms on the Wagner Community School website as well in the high school office.

The American Legion Centennial Ride through the heart of the nation passes along the American Legion Memorial Highway, U.S. Highway 281 and included stops at 13 local American Legion Posts in South Dakota.

The Library Incentive Trip 2019 is now in the books. Twenty-three children and seven adult chaperones enjoyed a trip to “Dignity” at Chamberlain, the Planetarium and other interactive displays at the SD Discovery Center in Pierre and back to Chamberlain to enjoy the Chamberlain Pool and Waterpark.

For the first time ever, the Lake Andes Farmers Market will be swiping your SNAP/EBT cards at the market. To make dollars stretch even further at the Lake Andes Farmers Market they are running a program that will DOUBLE your SNAP dollars to buy more fruits and vegetables at the market.
