The Lake Andes Public Library celebrated our participants who took part in programming at the library this summer and who also helped us reach for the moon in our summer reading program. Participants enjoyed a pizza party, each received a parachuting rocket , their choice of two free books and an incentive gift from the library.

Summer Feeding Program sponsored by the Lake Andes Carnegie Public Library and the City of Lake Andes concluded on August 15th. During the 58 days that meals were served we served supper to 839 meals to children between the ages of 0-18 years old. The program is sponsored by the South Dakota Dept of Education. The library hopes to provide this service to our community in the years to come. A generous donation of $200.00 was received from the South Central ABATE for the Summer Feeding Program. Thank you very much! We also appreciate Jan Budavich for her donation of boxes of apples and oranges to the program. These donations make Feeding Program possible.
