CMC DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER SET TENTATIVE CLOSING DATE

The Disaster Recovery Center located in Lake Andes, located in the County Emergency Management Office located at 390 Main Street has set a tentative closing date of Saturday, August 10. FEMA is sharing space with recovery specialists from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

MOMS IN PRAYER INTERNATIONAL

With the beginning of school, Moms in Prayer will be starting up again. This is a Christ centered prayer ministry made up of Moms and other interested ladies desiring to pray for the students and the school. Fern Nichols started the organization over 30 years ago.

STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT AGRICULTURE

Children attending summer school enjoyed a field trip to So-Co in Wagner. Tye Kjeldgaard and Jamie Soukup did a presentation on what they do here in Wagner at Pioneer and how commercial agriculture affects their lives on a daily basis. The kids enjoyed their time and enjoyed learning about Ag!

This Week in The first Rotary meeting for the month of August was called to order on Wednesday, August 7th. President Bill Frei rang the bell and admitted it was a pretty weak ring.

10 Years Ago - 2009 Becky Brunsing received her certificate for completing the South Dakota Municipal Clerk Leadership and Management Development Program The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Siants Wagner Branch donated over $1000 of food items to the local Wagner Food Pantry.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL #2676

Our local council #2676 started the summer off with a steak fry on June 4th. There was great attendance and the steaks prepared by Colin Soukup and Ron Mazourek were excellent. Later in the month the Knights held the annual East and West River Field Mass on Sunday, June 30th at 4:00p.m.
