It is September, fall is in the air, and what we might call “respiratory season” is nearly upon us. Respiratory season refers to the colder months in which we spend much of our time indoors, maybe October through March.

Continuing with the recent books purchased for the Library on the subject of 9/11 our next book is “Seven and a half Tons of Steel” by Janet Nolan is the story of a steel beam from the World Trade Center towers was given to the United States Navy to build a ship called the USS New York.

1931 - 90 years ago The waters of Lake Andes are receding rapidly, and we are informed that the water is only 3 1/2 feet deep at the deepest spot. "Fun without cost" will be taught at the recreation training school to be held at Lake Andes October 3.

Am. Leg. Auxiliary to Greer Post #11

Greer Unit # 11, American Legion Auxiliary met on September 16, 2021 at the post home with 11 members present and two guests, Olivia Breen and Alice Koupal. The meeting was called to order by President Juanita Stone. Chaplin Pro Tem Marlene Stone opened with prayer.

PRESCHOOL GRANDPARENTS RECOGNIZED

Preschool grandparents were recognized for Grandparents Day Wednesday and Thursday, September 15 & 16, at Wagner Community School. Among those attending were Joan and Dennis Payer with their preschool granddaughter Chloe Payer.

Katelynn (Andersh) Wells won the Women’s Division Master Angler title with this Record catch, 17 lb. Red Snapper in the 30 lb. line division. Overall, Wells won 3 Heaviest Winners, 2 Heaviest Records, 1 Division Record and 14 Division Leaders.

Rotary News

President Elect Becky Brunsing rang the Rotary Bell in the absence of President Bryan Slaba to begin the September 15th meeting. There were no guests for the day, so Pastor Laurie was asked to offer up a prayer.
